Is it too much modesty shown by Gerry Pennell?

With the 2012 Olympic Games to be played in London, are round the corner, the buzzing about the final stage of preparation for the event has started making waves. When Gerry Pennell, the CIO of London Olympic who has been provided the responsibility of technology maintenance during the mega event was asked about the amount of preparation and expected nightmare, he modestly admitted jokingly saying,” At this stage we're all significantly tired that staying awake is not a problem”. If observed closely, there is an element of truth and modesty inhibited in his statement which he indirectly might have hinted. Everywhere few months before any mega events there always comes a big question in people asking if ever everything will be ready for the big show. Apparently, in London also people might have started finding out the status of preparatory task. Still some months are to go for final commence of the events and the Gerry Pennell is not yet sure about the timely completion of the task assigned to him.

"We will throw hundreds of scenarios at the TOC over a three-day period - far worse I imagine than anything that will happen during the games. It is important to practice that crisis management, so if anything happens we will be ready.” This statement by Gerry Pennell indicates his willingness to show people the various innovative tactics learnt to adopt during the events which also meant to give people the assurance about rigorous pre-equipping exercises that are being done to be shown during these three days period. This is also the last pretest of the events before it gets too late for last minute preparation.
